Privacy Policy

TutorFit is a private tutor for AP Biology. Many of our students are under 18, so we collect as little as we can and we keep this page in plain words.

What we collect

• Your account: your email address and name from Google sign-in, and the first name you want Sam to call you.
• If you choose to tell us: your grade and what you want help with. You can skip both.
• Your learning: where you are in the course, what you said or typed in lessons (as text), your answers and scores, and your weak spots.
• Technical details: basic logs that keep the service running, such as timings and error reports.

Your voice

When you tap the mic, your recording is sent to a speech service to be turned into text. We keep the text as part of your lesson. We don’t store the recording on our servers. The mic check when you join only measures how loud the sound is: nothing is recorded or sent.

How we use it

Only to teach you: to remember your place, judge your answers, answer your questions and show your progress. We don’t show ads, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it to market other products to you.

Who helps us run this

A few companies process data for us, only to provide the service:

• Supabase: sign-in and our database.
• Vercel: hosting.
• Google: sign-in, and its Gemini AI, which reads what you say to judge answers and reply.
• DeepInfra: turning speech into text, and making Sam’s voice.

These companies may process data in other countries.

Students under 18

If you’re under 18, you should have a parent or guardian’s permission to use TutorFit. A parent or guardian can delete a student’s account and everything in it from Settings, signed in to that account.

Your choices

• Change or remove your details: your name, grade and what you want help with are all in Settings.
• Delete everything: go to Settings and choose Delete my account. Your account and your learning data are removed.
• Start over: restarting the course clears your lesson history.

How long we keep it

Your account and learning data stay until you delete your account.

Cookies

We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it applies.
